Job summary

Powers in Metairie, LA is seeking a Controls Specialist- Building Automation System (BAS) Service to join our team. You will develop and maintain temperature control systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities, primarily in the field with occasional travel to branches.

This role requires hands-on experience with multiple control platforms, strong communication, and the ability to train customers on BAS operations, while promoting additional service work.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical training.
• 2+ years’ experience in BAS.
• Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of controls and HVAC in commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Verify proper operation of building controls.
• Identify and repair control system failures.
• Interface with Service Manager and subcontractors to coordinate activities.
• Complete daily reports for customers and management.
• Provide training to customers on BAS operations.
• Promote the sale of additional work.
• Able to travel to branches within the area.
• Adhere to Powers and customer safety standards.
