Job summary

BHM CPA Group is seeking a BAS Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and advisory engagements across multiple clients and entities. This leadership role requires strong technical accounting skills, staff development, and a focus on delivering accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, and is adept at client management, internal controls, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA designation preferred; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory and client management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams, developing staff, and leading client engagements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with business owners, executives, and team members.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software platforms.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee accounting and advisory engagements for multiple clients across various industries.
• Review and analyze financial statements, management reports, and KPIs for accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, building relationships and providing proactive financial guidance.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for client engagements.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and tax-related activities.
• Assess client accounting processes and internal controls to improve efficiency.
• Provide strategic recommendations on financial operations, cash flow, budgeting, and performance.
• Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals through coaching and feedback.
• Review work prepared by staff to ensure quality and firm standards.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with leadership on practice development and growth initiatives.
• Perform special projects and financial analyses as requested.
• Ability to work in-office, remotely, and on-site with clients.
