Job summary

McDonald Jacobs is seeking a BAS Staff Accountant to support our Business Advisory Services team in maintaining client financial records and processing accounting transactions. You will work closely with clients and the BAS team to ensure accurate information and timely deliverables.

The role emphasizes working with numbers, managing multiple priorities, and building a foundation in client accounting and advisory services, with opportunities for growth within the practice.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting (GAAP).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong data accuracy and entry skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to handle confidential information and maintain professionalism.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• Associate degree and/or accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks; willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clients' financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
• Provide direct support to the BAS team within the Assurance Department.
• Assist with recurring accounting, bookkeeping, and client service functions.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Maintain accurate financial records and daily transaction activity.
• Reconcile entries into the accounting system.
• Assist engagement teams with bank deposits, reconciliations, payroll, and month-end close.
• Prepare and assist with Form 1099s and other filings.
• Follow firm workflows to complete recurring accounting tasks and month-end deliverables.
