Job summary

Bridgepoint Consulting, an Addison Group Company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing Financial Operations practice in Austin. You will be part of the client delivery team, building relationships with current and prospective clients and guiding month-end close, reconciliations, and audit preparation.

The role requires 5–8 years of hands-on accounting, GAAP knowledge, and experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct, plus strong Excel and client communication

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience.
• BA/B.S. in Accounting or Finance required; CPA/MBA preferred.
• Strong consulting-style service mindset and client focus.
• Industry experience in startups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance or Big Four/public accounting favored.
• Experience with monthly close procedures and monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
• Hands-on with AP, AR, GL, payroll, and cash management.
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct; strong Excel skills.
• Ability to adapt to multiple client environments and communicate at all levels.
• Solid U.S. GAAP knowledge and ability to research technical GAAP issues.
• Experience in small to mid-sized companies and multitasking.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain relationships with Current and prospective clients
• Interact with BPC members in Financial Operations and other practice areas of the firm to coordinate excellent delivery
• Assist with reconciliations, month end reporting, preparing clients for audit, cleaning up their books, and assisting their department with integration of merger and acquisition data
• Interact directly with the client contact (CFO, Controller) and their staff
• Provide project status updates, feedback, and thoughtful insights into client challenges for your delivery manager
• Embrace flexibility and take on tasks and assignments that may be out of your comfort zone

Skills You'll Need

Required:

• 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience
• B.A. or B.S. required, Accounting or Finance degrees are a plus
• Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
• Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance and Big Four/public accounting is highly preferred
• Experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Recent hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct), along with moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
• Ability to adapt to various client environments, and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
• Demonstration of a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience researching technical GAAP issues
• Past experience working in small to mid-sized company environment with the ability to multi-task and wear several hats
