Bartender Job Description – Rokka Grill & Whiskey Bar

Rokka Grill & Whiskey Bar is looking for a professional, high‑energy Bartender to join our team. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience while preparing and serving cocktails, whiskey selections, beer, wine, and other beverages with consistency and care.

The ideal candidate is personable, attentive, knowledgeable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced restaurant and bar environment. You should be able to connect with guests, recommend drinks and menu items, maintain a clean bar, and follow all alcohol service and safety regulations.

Bartender Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive service
• Take drink and food orders accurately
• Prepare and serve cocktails, whiskey, beer, wine, and other beverages according to Rokka standards
• Recommend beverages, specials, and menu items based on guest preferences
• Check identification to verify legal drinking age
• Follow all alcohol service, food safety, and quality regulations
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked bar area
• Clean glasses, utensils, tools, equipment, and work surfaces
• Monitor guest needs and support a positive dining and bar experience
• Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management

Bartender Requirements

• Previous bartending or bar service experience preferred
• Meets state minimum age requirement to serve alcohol
• Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, whiskey, beer, and wine preferred
• Alcohol service certification preferred, if applicable
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Basic math and POS/computer skills
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and knowledge of drink‑mixing tools and techniques
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
