Professional Barista Job Description – Rokka Grill & Whiskey Bar

Rokka Grill & Whiskey Bar is looking for an experienced, guest-focused Professional Barista who is passionate about specialty coffee, craft beverages, and elevated hospitality.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in preparing exceptional coffee, creative specialty drinks, and coffee-based cocktails while delivering a polished guest experience that matches the Rokka brand.

Barista Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality specialty coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, pour overs, and more
• Craft premium drinks featuring matcha, chai, specialty teas, and seasonal beverages
• Create and serve coffee cocktails such as Espresso Martinis, Carajillos, Irish Coffees, and signature creations
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation in every drink
• Follow recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations
• Learn the beverage menu and confidently make recommendations to guests
• Upsell featured drinks and specialty beverages when appropriateMaintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked coffee station
• Restock cups, syrups, milk, coffee, tea, matcha, and other beverage supplies as needed
• Clean and maintain coffee equipment, work areas, and service stations
• Assist in developing new beverage recipes and seasonal menu items
• Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management
• Deliver exceptional hospitality and support a polished guest experience

Barista Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional barista experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art
• Experience working with matcha, chai, teas, and specialty coffee beverages
• Knowledge of spirits and coffee-based cocktails is highly preferred
• Previous experience in specialty coffee shops, upscale restaurants, or craft beverage programs preferred
• Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
• SCA certification or equivalent is a plus
