Job summary

Sky View Observatory is seeking an experienced bartender to join our fast-paced bar operations on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center in Seattle. You will craft cocktails and beverages, greet guests, and handle payments while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements include 21+ years old, 3+ years in a high-volume bar with craft cocktails, extensive knowledge of drinks, and the ability to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. MAST and Food Handler’s permits are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ years old to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a restaurant bartender in a high-volume bar with a craft cocktail program.
  • Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer.
  • Ability to work extended hours including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess MAST and Food Handler's permit.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve beverages per standard recipes.
  • Accept guest payment and process credit card charges.
  • Check IDs to verify age requirements.
  • Greet guests, take F&B orders, and record them in the POS.
  • Maintain bar area and displays.
  • Open, close, and clean bar as required.
  • Ensure bar is stocked with tools and products.
  • Report equipment problems to the F&B manager.
  • Provide guidance on Seattle attraction information.
  • Collaborate with team for smooth service.
  • Set up bar and serve beverages during events.

Job description

SKY VIEW OBSERVATORY As a new addition in our fastest growing business vertical, Legends designed, built and operates Sky View Observatory (“SVO”), an innovative guest experience on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center. SVO will set a new standard in the observatory experience in Seattle. Breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views including Mt. Rainier, Bellevue.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as ordered and consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
  • Accept guest payment and process credit card charges.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Greet guests, take F& B orders from guests, and record orders accurately into the Point of Sale system.
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation, promotion of beverages, and attractive displays.
  • Perform all opening, closing, and cleaning procedures as indicated in the Employee Training Manual.
  • Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the F& B manager.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, promotions, and events.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area, including behind the bar and all storage areas.
  • Provide guidance to guests concerning general Seattle attraction information.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Set-up bar, prepare and serve beverages to guests during an event.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a restaurant bartender experience in a high-volume bar with a craft cocktail program.
  • Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to understand and follow specialty cocktail recipes.
  • Must maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance standard.
  • Knowledge of bar tools, especially for measurements of alcohol; utilizing jiggers is mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team during set up and execution of service.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • MAST and Food Handler’s permit required.
COMPENSATION

Pay up to $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
