The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa

is looking for Bartenders/Servers to join our team! Located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District, this historic hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of America.

Schedule: Four days a week, approximately 25-35 hours. Must be available nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Summary:

Greet guests professionally, sell, prepare, and serve cocktails and light fare efficiently, friendly, and professionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve consistent, quality beverages and cocktails.
2. Know drink recipes and presentation standards for all drinks offered.
3. Handle all cash, credit, and room charge transactions accurately.
4. Manage gift certificates and packages responsibly, following proper check procedures.
5. Monitor guests' alcohol consumption and prevent over-serving; address intoxication situations promptly.
6. Politely address dissatisfied guests and seek manager assistance if needed.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lounge and cafe, including side work and stocking.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
9. Obey all Maine State Liquor laws regarding alcohol service.
10. Assist in training new employees.
11. Practice safe food service procedures.
12. Proficiently use the computer system for the lounge and cafe.
13. Attend all scheduled meetings.

Qualifications:

Must satisfactorily perform all essential duties. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic math operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

TIPS Certification required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED, or 1-year related experience/training, or equivalent.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, interpret safety and procedural documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively in English.
