Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences New Orleans is seeking a Bartender to provide prompt beverage service for hotel guests and servers. You will work with wines, spirits and cocktails, using the hotel’s POS system to take and verify orders and ensure guest satisfaction.

You will need at least two years of bar experience, a valid Responsible Vendor Permit, and U.S. work authorization. This is a full-time, on-site role in New Orleans with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Responsible Vendor Permit to serve alcohol.
• Must have 2 years of experience in bars, preferably hotel bars.
• Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
• Valid U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu with proper pouring and mixing per Four Seasons standards.
• Confirm guest orders with lounge server using the POS system and verify against original order.
• Engage guests at the bar with descriptions of items’ origin, taste and preparation methods; maintain knowledge of liquors and specialty drinks.
• Anticipate guest needs, ensure satisfaction, offer suggestions, and address concerns promptly.
• Close guest checks accurately and process cash and card payments; settle voided checks or comps.

About The Role:

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences New Orleans is seeking candidates to join our Food and Beverage team as a Bartender. This role provides hotel guests and servers with quick and efficient beverage service with a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards.
• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order.
• Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, Armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.

What You Bring:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have an active Responsible Vendor Permit to serve alcohol
• Must have 2 years of experience in bars, preferably hotel bars
• Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety, of wines, spirits, and missed drinks.
• Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions
• Valid U.S. Work Authorization

• Work a 40-hour per week, 3 p.m.- close flexible schedule that includes weekends, and holidays.

• Use hotel operating systems and point-of-sale (POS) platforms to efficiently and accurately process guest check-ins, check-outs, and transactions.
