Job description

Tavernakaya is a family owned restaurant located on the Capitol Square serving comfort Asian food with cocktails, sakes, beers and wine. We are looking to hire a few Front of House positions, especially bartenders. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for excellent customer service and will be able to work in a fast-paced environment. They should have a good knowledge of Asian food and drinks, and must have previous bartending experience in a restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, and soft drinks for customers at tables and at the bar.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
• Interact with bar customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing recommendations, taking orders, running your own food, bussing your own dishes, etc.
• Restocking supplies and keeping track of orders.
• Prep ingredients, syrups, juices and mixes necessary for the bar.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and responsible serving practices.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service.

Skills / Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience is required.
• Knowledge of drink recipes and mixology techniques is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be available on Mondays, some weekday AMs and Fri/Sat evenings.
