Position Summary

The bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, in various locations throughout Principal Park. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events based on the Iowa Cubs Baseball Schedule (March-September). Employees will work in all weather conditions.

This role pays an hourly wage of $9.50-$15.50 plus tips.

Responsibilities
  1. Meet the company's standards for excellent guest service, teamwork, and uniform standards.
  2. Follow pre-shift notes and bar menus to provide accurate service.
  3. Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures and regulations.
  4. Learn about various beer, wine, and spirit varieties and suggestively upsell products.
  5. Pour drinks responsibly according to standards.
  6. Check guest IDs to verify legal age for alcohol purchase.
  7. Communicate cut-off times to guests as required.
  8. Respond to customer requests and concerns.
  9. De-escalate situations involving intoxicated or confrontational guests, contacting management or security when necessary.
  10. Seek management assistance if needed for decision-making.
  11. Restock and request additional products as needed.
  12. Maintain a clean, sanitary work station and well-maintained equipment.
  13. Assist with setup and breakdown of the bar area.
  14. Achieve and maintain TEAM/TIPS certification for alcohol service.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum age 18 or older.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  3. Six months or more experience bartending preferred.
  4. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Self-directed with team collaboration skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  7. Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  8. Maintain confidentiality regarding private information.
  9. Ability to acquire TEAM/TIPS certification.
  10. Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
