Job summary

AKA Hotels + Hotel Residences is seeking a bartender to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced hotel bar environment. You will read menus, create and serve cocktails, and ensure accurate wine and beer service while maintaining a clean, well-stocked bar.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of bartending experience, a professional image, and certifications like TIPS and ServSafe. The role requires multi-tasking and teamwork to meet guest needs and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of bartending experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and familiarize yourself with all food, drink and cocktail menus.
• Prepare mixed drinks by selecting and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
• Garnish drinks with fruits, olives and onions as required.
• Serve beer and wine, including opening bottles and pouring by the glass.
• Provide bar snacks and keep the display attractive and stocked.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and supplies, including restocking as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with regulations; help manage responsible service.
• Stay up to date with drink trends and add value through new recipes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Pay or shift range: $25 USD to $33.40 USD
  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Read and familiarize yourself with all food, drink and cocktail menus.
• Prepares mixed drinks by selecting and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
• Garnishes drinks by slicing and pitting fruits; preparing olives, and onions; placing on picks or in drinks.
• Serves beer by retrieving and opening requested brand bottles and cans.
• Services wine by opening bottles; decanting; and/or pouring by the glass offerings.
• Provides bar snacks by replenishing nuts, and special mixes.
• Provides menus for food and drink and takes order
• Maintains attractive bar by arranging bottles and glasses for display; removing soiled glassware and empty bottles and cans; ensuring cleanliness.
• Maintains supplies by ordering, requisitioning, or re-stocking snacks, liquors, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients.
• Prepares trash for disposal by separating garbage and recyclable items.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy bar and patrons by following and enforcing standards and procedures; judging when customers have consumed too much alcohol; call for alternate transportation; complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; keeping abreast of drink trends; exploring new recipes.
• Enhances bar’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; safeguarding customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
