Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore is seeking a Barista Lead to provide day-to-day leadership of café operations within Retail Food & Nutrition Services, ensuring high-quality service and efficient workflow in a hospital setting.

You will coach staff, manage scheduling and training, monitor inventory, and handle escalated customer concerns while collaborating with management on promotions and menu updates and upholding hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience.
• Experience in café or retail environment preferred.
• Ability to lead a team and manage daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily café operations and assign tasks.
• Lead and coach barista staff to ensure quality and service.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering.
• Serve as primary escalation point for customer concerns.
• Ensure adherence to food safety and hospital policies.
• Assist with scheduling, onboarding, and training.
• Conduct quality checks on beverages, cleanliness, and service standards.
• Support promotions, menu updates, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with management on operational needs.
• Operate cash register/POS and handle cash procedures.
