Methodist Hospital is seeking a Barista to join our team, supporting daily customer-service and retail operations within the hospital coffee shop.

You will provide specialty coffee and beverage service, operate the POS system, handle transactions, maintain displays, and support inventory control in a hospital environment.

Formación

• Minimum of one year of barista experience in a high-volume retail coffee-shop operation within a hospital environment.
• Experience with specialty coffee or café operations preferred.
• Comfort with operating commercial espresso equipment and handling cash transactions.

Position Summary:

Our The Barista is responsible for the daily customer-service and retail operations of the coffee shop located within Methodist Hospital. This position provides professional, friendly, and efficient service to hospital employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, volunteers, and other customers. The Barista provides specialty coffee and beverage service, operates the point-of-sale system, processes customer transactions, maintains retail product displays, replenishes supplies, supports inventory control, and maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming customer environment.

Work Schedule:

FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) year of previous barista experience and the ability to independently perform the specialized functions associated with a high-volume retail coffee-shop operation within a hospital environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two or more years of barista experience. Specialty coffee or café experience, operating commercial espresso and coffee equipment experience, retail point-of-sale systems and previous cash handling experience. Previous experience in a healthcare, hospitality, hotel, restaurant, café, or other high-volume customer service environment.
