• We have an opening for full-time and part-time BARISTA positions.
• Location: Restaurant Associates at Brooklyn Botanic Garden - 990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225 Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full and part-time. Days and hours vary; must be able to work mornings, day shifts, weekends, and evening events. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Cashier experience required.
• Pay Range: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepare and serve coffee/espresso drinks and related food/beverages. Handle food following HACCP standards. Interact courteously with customers and staff.

• Prepare espresso orders using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders into POS; accept payments.
• Replenish supplies; maintain cleanliness.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and temperature; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment and work area.
• Follow recipes and standards for food prep.
• Keep display equipment clean during service.
• Clean equipment and workstation after use.
• Greet customers courteously and ensure satisfaction.
• Serve efficiently, prevent delays.
• Understand menu items; explain to customers.
• Use selling techniques to assist buying decisions.
• Merchandise display foods attractively; serve food neatly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
