Job summary

Hugh Chatham Health in Concord, NC seeks a Medical Assistant II to support the care team with clinical and administrative tasks essential to patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, venipuncture, lab work, and vaccination administration.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program (or equivalent), current BLS, MA certification, and at least two years of MA experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training per DD214.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• CMA/RMA certification from recognized body.
• Two years of clinical MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice; follows policies and procedures.
• Rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings, med reconciliation.
• Assist provider with procedures as ordered.
• Perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per orders, CLIA-waived tests.
• Administer medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handle insurance authorizations, referrals, scheduling, and patient messaging.
• Maintain clean, stocked work environment and equipment.
• May assist with training other teammates.
• Ensure age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan.
