Job summary

Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital is hiring for a Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced pediatric clinic in North Carolina. The role requires patient preparation, basic lab work, and assisting physicians with procedures, while ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth clinic operations.

Ideal candidates will have an accredited Medical Assistant program, BLS, and applicable CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA certifications, with a preference for 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• 1 year of experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certifications (CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA) are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam, records vital signs and health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assists physicians with procedures (e.g., pelvic exams, scratch testing, EMG).
• Administers routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Follows through with tests, referrals, and scheduling; communicates with the care team and patient.
• Performs basic clinical support tasks and other duties as needed.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and communication with patients.
