Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training per DD214.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required within 45 days depending on division.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Laboratory duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling and packing, POCT per orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely per rights of administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, safety logs, messaging, and scheduling.
• Cross trained for clinic-specific duties within the MA scope.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork; escalates when needed.
• Maintains clean environment; ensures instruments and supplies are stocked.
• Provides age-appropriate care considering growth and development across life span.
