Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: diploma or GED and MA program or military training per site.
• Certification: AHA BLS as required by division.
• Experience: no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains competency.
• Rooming/visit tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT per order.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication rights.
• Other duties: refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross-trained for duties relevant to clinic practice.
• Communicates effectively and escalates when needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and equipment.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care per policies.
