As a Pool Barback at 1 Hotels, you will be an extension of the bartender, assisting in all beverage service tasks and ensuring that the bar area runs smoothly before, during, and after service.
General Duties
- Assist bartenders in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after service, including arranging bottles, glassware, and bar tools, and ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Stock and replenish bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other supplies, to ensure that bartenders have everything they need to prepare drinks efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare garnishes, such as citrus wedges, olives, and herbs, according to established recipes and standards, ensuring that they are fresh, attractive, and ready for use during service.
- Monitor and manage the supply of ice, ensuring that ice bins are filled and ice machines are functioning properly, to support the efficient preparation and service of drinks.
- Provide support to bartenders during service, including fetching and carrying items, clearing empty glasses and bottles, and assisting with guest requests, to help ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards with self and colleagues.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

Qualifications & Skills
- Prior barback experience.
- Organized and proficient at multitasking.
- Reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
- Can stand for long periods of time.
- Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment).
- Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation, including holidays and weekends.
