Position Overview: As a Barback, you will support the bartending team by assisting with the setup, maintenance, and cleanup of the bar area. Your duties include stocking supplies, replenishing ingredients, and assisting bartenders to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Job Functions:
- Stocking Supplies: Assist with stocking the bar with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies.
- Preparation Assistance: Prepare and organize ingredients like fruit garnishes, ice, and garnish trays for efficient drink preparation.
- Glassware Management: Maintain clean and organized glassware, including washing and polishing.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean and tidy, including wiping counters, cleaning spills, and emptying trash.
- Assisting Bartenders: Support bartenders by fetching ingredients, ice, garnishes, and assisting with other tasks.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly service, greet patrons, answer questions, and handle special requests.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, record consumption, and report shortages.
- Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety regulations, handle glassware properly, and maintain sanitation standards.
Legislation & Company Policy
- Gain TIP certification within 3 months of employment.
- Check IDs to verify legal drinking age; refuse service politely if underage.
- Use judgment in managing difficult situations, such as preventing intoxication or underage drinking.
- Observe guests’ behavior, monitor drinks served, and offer transportation if needed.
- Participate in pour tests to ensure accuracy.
- Support all relevant company policies.
