Position Overview

The Line Cook is responsible for food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen sanitation standards. They work under the supervision of senior kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and high-quality dishes.

Job Functions
  1. Food Preparation and Cooking
  • Assist in preparing ingredients and mise en place for various recipes and menu items.
  • Cook food according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor cooking processes and adjust as needed.
  • Station Support
    • Work at different kitchen stations as assigned.
    • Assist with dish preparation during peak times.
    • Coordinate with staff for timely food service.
  • Quality Control and Presentation
    • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
    • Follow plating and garnishing guidelines.
    • Adjust seasonings as needed.
  • Kitchen Organization and Cleanliness
    • Keep workstations and equipment clean and organized.
    • Follow sanitation procedures.
    • Dispose of waste properly.
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor inventory levels.
    • Report low stock or equipment issues.
    • Assist with stock counts and receiving deliveries.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with team members.
    • Assist in training new staff.
    • Support during busy periods and foster a positive environment.
    Qualifications
    • Experience as a line or prep cook.
    • Proficiency in basic cooking techniques.
    • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
