Job summary

The Newbury Boston, operated by Highgate Hotels, seeks a Barback to maintain stock and cleanliness behind the bar and support the Bar staff for smooth service. This role focuses on delivering a best-in-class guest experience within a luxury setting in Boston.

Responsibilities include requisition handling, stocking, product knowledge, safety and sanitation, and assisting guests with a friendly, professional attitude during evening shifts. Prior bar experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of previous experience in a similar role.
• Evening shift availability.
• Adequate communication skills: must be able to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers.
• Patient in dealing with guersts.

Responsibilities

• Request, pick, verify and put away all requisitions for liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks and food items used for the bar areas.
• Stock the bar areas with liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware and condiments.
• Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar.
• Ensure that all side opening and closing duties are completed.
• Adopt a positive approach in dealing with guests problems and issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
• Attend to customer needs with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Operate and maintain bar equipment and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
