Job summary

American Social - Tampa is seeking experienced bartenders to join our team in Tampa, FL. You will be responsible for bar prep, stock management, and delivering beverages and food to guests, while maintaining a high level of service and compliance with liquor laws.

The role requires standing for long shifts, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and working late-night hours. English fluency and a food handling certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must meet local, legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to work Late Night shifts, potentially to between 12 AM – 4AM
• Fluent in English; able to speak, read, write
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Able to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level
• Able to move items up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet
• Able to remain standing and active for an 8-12 hour shift.
• Able to tolerate exposure to cold temperatures (below 0° F) throughout the shift.
• Able to hear, understand, and respond to requests in a loud environment
• Skill and coordination at using hands to pour drinks, carry glasses, cut garnishes, etc.

Responsibilities

• Enables bar readiness: stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, bar tools, and cleaning items.
• Prepares bar prep items using recipes and proper portioning.
• Uses FIFO to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
• Maintains high production standards for food prep quality and temperature.
• Cleans and maintains bar and tables for guests.
• Delivers beverages and food and engages guests for a positive experience
• Complies with liquor laws by requesting valid IDs from guests
• Maintains bar equipment, communicates problems promptly
• Cleans, sanitizes and polishes glassware to standards
• Communicates with team using radios
• Supports both FOH and BOH priorities and works with all team members
• Willing to assist in other departments as needed
• Works well under pressure
• Follows managers' directions and marketing initiatives
• Adheres to safety, sanitation and administrative procedures

Job description

Job Functions:

• High production standards including, consistency, firmness, and temperature of food
• Maintains supplies, fresh ice, garnish containers, juices, liquor, beer and wine stock
• Changes beer kegs, soft drink containers, and CO2 tanks to ensure fresh product
• Performs bar set up and closing duties
• Cleans and prepares bar and tables for new guests
• Supports restaurant maintenance by stocking supplies and keeping it clean and organized
• Has basic food and beverage knowledge and is able to confidently answer guests questions
• Delivers beverages and food and maintains engagement to ensure a positive experience
• Complies with all state and federal liquor laws by requesting that guests present a valid ID
• Adheres to alcohol awareness procedures for preventing guest intoxication
• Ensures all bar equipment is in proper working order, communicating problems when necessary
• Cleans, sanitizes and, polishes glassware ensuring cleanliness and presentation standards
