Job Description

Reports To: Bartender, Beverage Manager, Food & Beverage Director

General Purpose: The Bar Back supports the bartender with responsibilities such as restocking glasses, beverages, ice, etc. The Bar Back must always anticipate the bartender's needs by keeping the bar area clean, well-stocked, organized, and seeking opportunities to learn more about beverages and assist other staff.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Familiar with and knows the location of every item in inventory.
• Assist and execute tasks assigned by the bartender.
• Stock the bar to par level before and after each shift.
• Stock the bar service area.
• Communicate with bartenders throughout the shift.
• Report to work on time and be ready for the scheduled shift.
• Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests.
• Keep the restaurant service area clean and orderly.
• Assist and execute tasks assigned by other supervisors.
• Follow all sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Capable of lifting heavy items, sometimes overhead.
• Responsible, dependable, punctual.
• Good communication skills; able to speak, read, and understand English.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Show enthusiasm for all things 21c.
• Must pass a background check.

Education/Formal Training

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
