Primary Mission

As our Restaurant Barback, you are responsible for providing the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation.

SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM
  • Reports to Hotel Manager and Food & Beverage Supervisor
  • Supports food & beverage team, catering, events, pool & bar
Responsibilities
  • Walk and stand during entire shift, approaching and servicing guests with all food and beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Report all issues and complaints to management.
  • Clear, clean, and reset bar as needed; perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving objects.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to keep the bar area and hallways free of debris; bring back room service trays for breakdown and bussing.
  • Familiarize with restaurant and bar organization; know the function of each position and have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, side work, and station rotation to keep tables and stands stocked, tidy, and clean.
  • Follow all state liquor laws.
  • Handle food and beverage service, including carrying coffee pots and refilling guest cups as needed.
  • Greet and serve guests following established policies and procedures.
  • Convey information clearly and evaluate guest needs to meet expectations.
  • Work well under stress, maintaining composure and objectivity.
  • Listen and respond effectively to guests and colleagues.
  • Understand financial info, perform basic arithmetic, and operate POS/Micros system.
  • Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Attend to regular attendance as per schedule.
  • Coordinate with team and supervisors, support work priorities, and attend meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
  • 1+ year experience in luxury/lifestyle hotel or restaurant
  • Tech-savvy, familiar with handheld tablets and bar inventory
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Energetic, outgoing, service-oriented, detail-focused, calm, team player, organized, multitasker
Other Expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow payroll, safety, and security policies
  • Work hours primarily during Food & Beverage operations and pre-opening hours
