Description
Position Summary:
The Cocktail Server is responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging beverage service to guests in The National's lounges and dining spaces. This role ensures an elevated guest experience through exceptional service, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of craft cocktails, wine, and spirits.
Responsibilities:
- Promptly greet guests and take beverage and food orders accurately.
- Deliver orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently and handle cash/credit transactions securely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and work areas.
- Reset, bus, and maintain tables and lounge areas between guests.
- Perform assigned side work and assist teammates as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with bartenders, food runners, and management to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Extend and present checks accurately and obtain appropriate signatures when required.
- Adhere to all state and company alcohol service and cash handling policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of wine, cocktails, and spirits; able to make recommendations confidently.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma ABLE alcohol license.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and remain composed in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and guest service focus.
Experience:
- Previous cocktail serving or bartending experience preferred.
- Hotel or upscale lounge experience is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs repeatedly.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move consistently throughout the shift.
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
