Yarde Metals, Inc. is seeking a Bar Puller (2nd Shift) in Southington, CT. The role involves selecting bar stock, preparing orders, and operating forklifts and cranes in a safety‑driven environment.

You will work with measuring tools, verify inventory and prepare shipments while adhering to safety procedures and quality standards. Overtime is required as needed.

Competenze

• History of working safely and productively.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Must read, understand and carry out work instructions in English.
• Must be able to pass background check, drug screen and physical.
• Able to pass a human performance evaluation to meet physical requirements (lifting up to 70 lbs).
• Willingness to work required overtime.

Job Summary

Yarde Metals is looking for a bar puller to join our operations team. This is an opportunity to become part of a company that is commited to safety, quality, teamwork and the development of our associates. A bar puller fills customer orders by selecting a variety of bar stock material from inventory and preparing it for shipment.

Job Responsibilities

• SAFETY FIRST!
• Safely operate forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes.
• Organize work tickets according to location and material type.
• Retrieve material from inventory system according to work ticket specifications.
• Verify material location, condition, and specifications on inventory tags to work ticket.
• Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Record and report inventory discrepancies.
• Tag drops and return to appropriate location.
• Prepare orders for shipment and construct skids using powered hand tools.
• Stage orders in assigned locations for truck loading.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as instructed by supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery***

• History of working safely and productively.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
• Must be able to read and understand basic measurement functions (ruler, caliper, etc.)
• Must be able to read, understand, and carry out work instructions in English.
• Dependable, punctual, and works well with others.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift operation experience strongly preferred.
• Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, meet physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to pass a human performance evaluation to meet physical requirements of the job (lifting up to 70 lbs., pushing, pulling, etc.)
• Willingness to work required overtime.

Compensation

Expected Base Salary Range: $21.49 - $23.42

The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the position's work location and geographic market, the candidate's skills, experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
