Job summary

Locally Grown Restaurants is seeking a Bartender Manager for the South Restaurant + Coffeehouse to lead bar staff, manage inventories, and maintain guest satisfaction in a fast-paced Anchorage setting.

You will oversee ordering, scheduling, training, and discipline, while collaborating on drinks, wine and beer rotations, and cost control. The role requires 2 years bartending experience and a strong foundation in cash handling and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years bartending experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English.
• Must be able to work, standing and walking, in a fast-paced environment for up to 9 hours.
• Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card.
• Must have strong cash handling skills and the ability to operate a POS system.
• Must have a current TIPS/TAP card and a current Municipality of Anchorage food worker card.
• Must have basic knowledge of Google Drive and internet navigation.
• Must be available for late nights, weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs weekly inventory of all bar products and logs invoices.
• Controls all bar ordering and inventory within budget.
• Maintains communication with management via journals, emails, meetings, and in person.
• Monitors daily and weekly side work duties for bar staff and ensures completion.
• Ensures policies related to alcohol service are followed and staff are coached and trained.
• Keeps employee files up to date including reviews and discipline.
• Maintains organized bar schematics for smooth operations and visuals.
• Manages recipes and items logging; updates as needed.
• Handles hiring, scheduling, training, reviews, and discipline for bartenders.
• Maintains glassware inventory and reorders as needed.
• Collaborates on new drinks, wine list revisions, and beer rotations.
• Monitors bar labor cost and minimizes overtime; completes schedules on time.
• Engages with guests about wines, beers, and spirits.
