Job summary

Northern Hospitality Group in Anchorage is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our fast-paced, high-volume bar team. You will craft cocktails, beer, and wine while delivering genuine Alaskan hospitality and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of bartending, strong beverage knowledge, and proficiency with Micros POS. This role offers hourly pay plus tips and opportunities for career growth within NHG.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of bartending or cocktail preparation in a high-volume setting.
  • Proficiency with POS systems; Micros experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older and legally allowed to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service by welcoming guests, taking drink and food orders, and ensuring every guest feels valued.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times.
  • Follow all recipes and presentation standards to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Engage guests with knowledge of our locally brewed beers, Alaskan spirits, and specialty cocktails.
  • Process payments accurately using our POS system (Micros).
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, restocking, and cleaning.
  • Comply with all company, state, and federal alcohol service and health/safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Promote a positive team environment built on communication, respect, and shared goals.

Anchorage

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Bartenders to join our dynamic, high-volume team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, providing prompt and friendly service, and delivering genuine Alaskan hospitality to every guest.

Our ideal candidate has strong beverage knowledge, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences.

Job Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of bartending or cocktail preparation experience in a high-volume setting.
  • Proficiency with POS systems; Micros experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage preparation techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Required Certifications:
  • Must have a current TAPS (Training for Alcohol Professionals) certification.
  • Level 1 Beer Server certification through the Cicerone Certification Program (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Valid Alaska Food Handler Card.
