Job summary

The Hay-Adams in Washington, DC seeks an Assistant Bar Manager to support the Bar Manager across floor operations, training, and cocktail-menu development. You will train staff, supervise bar setup, and ensure outstanding guest service with strong mixology knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of mixology, product, and alcoholic beverage selections.
• Two to Three years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bar area setup, restock, cleanliness and maintain bar standards.
• Manage front and back of house cleanliness and organization.
• Assist FOH team with service, greet guests, seating, running, bussing, and resetting as needed.
• Coordinate with Bar Manager, sommeliers and chefs to design menu and beverage list.
• Train staff on spirits and cocktail lists and onboard new hires.
• Maintain bar inventory and equipment, and monitor par levels.
• Attend pre-shift meetings and assist with new menu items.
