Job summary

Side Street Hospitality is seeking a Bar Lead to oversee all bar operations, staffing, and beverage service. You will manage throughput, ensure compliance with laws, develop drink menus, and collaborate with the GM to meet sales and quality targets.

You must train staff, monitor inventory, implement controls, and plan events while maintaining a safe, welcoming atmosphere. The role requires agility in busy periods, excellent customer service, and strong problem solving to defuse difficult

Qualifications

• Bar experience required.
• Ability to lift kegs periodically.
• Current TABC certificate.
• Current Food Handler’s certificate.
• Ability to work peak times, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage all bar operations to ensure profitability and service quality.
• Train bar staff and provide hiring insights to the GM.
• Ensure compliance with beverage, liquor, and health laws.
• Develop new drinks and beverage policy.
• Implement beverage controls including inventory and cost analyses.
• Plan promotional events and maximize peak-hour coverage.

Job description

The Bar Lead is expected to work 40 hours a week, with sufficient work hours allocated to serving customers.

Bar Lead duties include but are not limited to:

The Bar Lead is responsible for managing all aspects of bar operations to ensure optimal performance and continual improvement of customer service, sales, bar staff management, inventory maintenance and bar program.

• Manage all aspects of the bar in compliance with all local, state and Federal beverage, liquor and health laws.
• Implements agreed-upon beverage policy.
• Train bar staff.
• Provide the GM with insight in hiring decisions.
• Ensure exceptional customer service.
• Develop new drinks.
• Ensure quality and safety controls are followed.
• Able to implement beverage controls including perpetual inventory, costs control, sales analysis for beverages and period end inventory.
• Manage inventory and resources.
• Plan promotional events.
• Ensure that bar is fully staffed during peak hours.
• Work with SSH to set business objectives to increase profit and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Maintain safe, fun atmosphere for guests and staff.
• Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action.
• Maintain bar equipment.

The Bar Lead will report to the General Manager and will comply with the SSH Manager’s Guidelines.
