Job summary

Silver Ventures' Otto's Ice House in the Pearl District, San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Bar Back to support bartenders and help run a smooth, profitable bar with friendly, courteous service.

You will keep the workstation clean, stock bar essentials, restock beer, manage ice and glassware, and assist with garnishes and drink prep while following safety and sanitation rules. This is a part-time Front of House role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have a TABC and Food Handlers certification before employment begins
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• POS (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
• Punctual and reliable attendance is required
• Must be well-groomed and professionally dressed following uniform standards
• Must have attention for detail, and a passion for serving Guests
• Positive and professional attitude in every aspect of the position
• Physical requirements: stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs; bend, reach, and repetitive motions

Responsibilities

• Stock the bar with condiments, straws, rags, and beverage napkins
• Maintain full ice binds and bar cleanliness
• Restock beer and help change kegs
• Bus glassware and dirty plates around the bar area
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside of the bar and stools
• Wash glassware and restock as needed
• Run bus tubs back to the kitchen and replace them
• Make margarita mix for margarita machine
• Cut fruit and garnishes for drinks
• Maintain stock of juice, liquor, beer, and wine
• Clear bar area of used dishes and re-set between customers
• Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Perform other duties specified by manager and/or bartender

As a Bar Back:

You support bartenders in all aspects of operating a smooth running and profitable bar. You understand the value of great service and provide it consistently to Guests in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner. You always keep your workstation clean and sanitary, showing pride in your work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stock the bar with all necessities including condiments, straws, rags, and beverage napkins, etc
• Maintain full ice binds and bar cleanliness

• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside of the bar, around the bar, and bar stools

• Maintain proper stock of juice, liquor, beer, and wine
