Job summary

Montage International seeks a Director of Banquets to lead the banquet department, oversee staffing, and ensure flawless execution of events at Pendry properties. You will manage budgets, coordinate with culinary and meetings teams, and maintain the highest standards of service and presentation.

The role requires exceptional leadership, budgeting know-how, and a proven track record in luxury hospitality. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is expected, with comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Prior Director of Banquets or Banquet Manager experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
• Proven success in customer service and guest recovery
• Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including assigning duties, mentoring, and evaluating service
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a results-oriented environment
• Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Embrace Technology – continually learn, adapt and master new operating systems
• Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Luxury hotel experience, a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Banquet department including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of staff
• Act as liaison for the hotel and point of contact for clients during events
• Develop and maintain policies, training manuals, procedures and standards
• Manage inventory, control and breakage/loss reduction for china, glass and silver
• Provide daily support and guidance to Banquet staff and monitor performance
• Work with other departments to execute client events and meetings
• Inspect banquet facilities and service areas for cleanliness and safety
• Create staffing schedules and manage budgets, forecasts and financial reports
• Implement cost controls and revenue strategies to maximize profitability
• Maintain high standards of service quality and presentation
• Collaborate with Meetings & Events and Culinary for flawless execution
• Perform additional duties as needed
