Job summary

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa is seeking skilled cooks to join our banquet kitchen team. You will prepare high-volume menu items, adhere to safety standards, and maintain kitchen sanitation. Qualifications

• At least 4 years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• ServSafe or equivalent food handler certification required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
• Advanced knife skills required.
• Basic mathematical skills and weights/measures to follow recipes.
• Familiar with batch and quantity cooking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Culinary degree or formal training preferred.
• Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor to specifications.
• Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Understand large-scale food production and timing requirements.
• Produce plate presentations meeting specifications.
• Prepare buffet and plated style items; grill/roast/bake as needed.
• Complete duties within required quantities and time limits.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Attend monthly department meetings and trainings.
