Job summary

The Greenleigh in Houston, TX is seeking a Banquets & Catering Captain to lead banquet operations for meetings, weddings and events. You will work with the Banquet Manager, culinary team and staff to coordinate setup, service and breakdown while delivering exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of banquet, restaurant, or hospitality experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead banquet service teams during meetings, weddings, and events to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Coordinate event setup, execution, and breakdown according to BEOs and client expectations.
• Direct workflow and provide ongoing support to banquet servers and event staff.
• Ensure banquet rooms, buffets, bars, and service stations are properly prepared and maintained.
• Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service standards.
• Communicate with Culinary, Sales, and Hotel Operations teams for seamless execution.
• Address guest requests and resolve service concerns promptly.
• Train, mentor, and coach banquet team members on service standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service regulations.
• Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance, and post-event cleanup.
• Maintain professional appearance and a positive team environment.
