Makeready LLC in Houston seeks a Banquets & Catering Captain to lead banquet operations for meetings, weddings and special events. You will manage setup, service execution, and breakdown, ensuring exceptional hospitality and adherence to standards.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in banquet or hospitality with leadership experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. TABC certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading banquet service teams during high-volume events.
• Ability to coordinate event setup and breakdown per BEOs.
• Proven guest service focus and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead banquet service teams during meetings, weddings, and events.
• Coordinate event setup, service execution, and breakdown per BEOs.
• Direct workflow and support banquet staff throughout functions.
• Ensure banquet rooms, buffets, bars and stations are prepared.
• Monitor food/beverage quality and service standards.
• Communicate with Culinary, Sales and Operations for seamless events.
• Train and mentor banquet staff on standards and procedures.
• Ensure health, safety, sanitation and responsible alcohol service.
• Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance and post-event cleanup.
• Maintain professional appearance and team-oriented environment.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
