Job summary

Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Banquets Captain to lead on-site banquet operations and champion guest satisfaction. You will direct the team through setup, service, and teardown, ensuring flawless events and adherence to policy and liquor laws.

Join a dynamic Food & Beverage team, train staff, coordinate with Sales/Catering, and manage schedules, inventory, and cash handling with professionalism and flair.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with state regulations).
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate initiative.
• Strong proficiency in financial tasks and arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Lead banquet events in setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring every detail matches Banquet Event Orders.
• Uphold appearance, service, safety standards and knowledge of policy/liquor law.
• Rally the team, assign tasks, run pre-event huddles, and train new recruits.
• Bridge Sales/Catering and guests, resolve issues and keep accidents at bay.
• Manage schedules, wage reports, inventory, beverage service, and cash handling.
