Position Summary

To provide technical and administrative support to the Banquet Chef and ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and food production outlets.

Responsibilities

  1. Schedule staff according to budget and business forecasts.
  2. Develop new menu additions.
  3. Train staff.
  4. Ensure product availability for all restaurant and banquet items.
  5. Maintain proper sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
  6. Ensure all kitchen equipment is operational.
  7. Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of walk-in coolers, including food rotation.
  8. Monitor daily food production and maintain quality standards.
  9. Ensure staff safety.
  10. Maintain good relations with the Front of the House Manager.
  11. Conduct daily meetings with servers and kitchen staff to discuss menu changes and operational concerns.
  12. Set clear expectations and ensure staff understand and adhere to guidelines.
  13. Control sign-in and sign-out procedures for kitchen staff.
  14. Lead kitchen department meetings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary management experience in a high-volume, full-service banquet or restaurant kitchen.
  • College education and/or culinary degree preferred.
  • Creative with knowledge of current food trends.
  • Proven leadership skills; ability to train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Experience managing schedules, inventory, payroll, and staff relations.
  • Knowledge of batch and quantity cooking.
  • Proficient with culinary tools and equipment.
  • Serve Safe certification required.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
