Position Summary: To provide technical and administrative support to the Banquet Chef, ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen and food production outlets.

Responsibilities

  1. Schedule staff according to budget and business forecasts.
  2. Develop menu additions.
  3. Train staff members.
  4. Ensure product availability for all restaurant and banquet items.
  5. Maintain proper sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
  6. Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order.
  7. Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of walk-in coolers, including food rotation.
  8. Monitor daily food production and quality control.
  9. Ensure staff safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  10. Maintain good communication with the Front of House Manager.
  11. Conduct daily meetings with servers and kitchen staff to discuss menu updates and operational concerns.
  12. Set clear expectations and ensure staff understand and follow guidelines.
  13. Manage sign-in and sign-out procedures for kitchen staff.
  14. Conduct kitchen department meetings.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 2 years of culinary management experience in a high-volume, full-service banquet or restaurant kitchen.
  2. College education and/or culinary degree preferred.
  3. Creative with knowledge of current food trends and concepts.
  4. Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, develop, and motivate staff.
  5. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  7. Experience managing schedules, inventory, payroll, and staff relations.
  8. Knowledge of batch and quantity cooking.
  9. Proficient with culinary tools and equipment, and able to taste and smell effectively.
  10. Serve Safe certified food manager.
  11. Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 lbs., and stand/walk for extended periods.
  12. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
