Job summary

The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach, FL is seeking a Banquet Houseperson to set up, maintain and break down banquet and meeting rooms according to event requirements and hotel standards.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms with tables, chairs, podiums and supplies, ensuring spaces are clean, organized and ready to support an exceptional guest experience; you will work with the Banquet Captain and shifts and assist with coffee breaks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hotel, banquet or hospitality experience preferred.
• Proficient in English; additional language skills are an asset.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet and meeting rooms according to event requirements and hotel standards.
• Prepare rooms with tables, chairs, podiums, water, glasses, pads, pens and other required meeting materials.
• Maintain knowledge of room layouts, seating capacities and various meeting room arrangements.
• Assist with coffee breaks and other banquet setups as needed.
• Clean and maintain banquet equipment, meeting rooms, carpets, windows, mirrors and other assigned areas.
• Communicate with the Banquet Captain and other shifts regarding setup requirements and completed work.
