Job summary

InterContinental Miami is seeking a Banquet Setup Houseperson to prepare and breakdown meeting spaces, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards. You will set up tables, chairs, linens and AV equipment as required for events, and keep service areas organized and stocked.

Role involves moving heavy items up to 100 pounds, observing safety, and occasionally working nights, weekends, and holidays. A team environment with strong guest service is essential.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing and mathematical skills.
• This job requires the ability to perform the following: Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds; moving about the function areas; bending, stooping, kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and/or break-down tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment and platforms/stages as specified by group requirements.
• Set-up table linens, skirting and table top items.
• Clean, store, and secure in an organized manner all tables, chairs, and equipment used for banquet functions.
• Maintain cleanliness of banquet rooms, hallways, and storage/service areas.
• Inspect equipment for damages and report issues to Supervisor.
• May refresh room during breaks and stock storage areas.
• May retrieve clean linen and stock in storage areas.
• May pick-up and deliver boxes and materials for functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
