Job summary

Sonesta Hotels in the United States seeks a Banquet House Person to set up and maintain banquet spaces behind the scenes for meetings, weddings, and events. You’ll work with multiple teams to ensure seamless event experiences in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet, hospitality, hotel, event setup, housekeeping, or operational experience preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality and events environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event equipment according to BEOs.
• Arrange tables, chairs, linens, staging, audio/visual equipment for events.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation across banquet spaces and back-of-house areas.
• Assist with room resets, event transitions, and operational changes during events.
• Support banquet operations by replenishing supplies and aiding servers and leadership.
• Operate banquet equipment safely (carts, dollies, tables, chairs).
• Follow safety procedures and hotel event setup standards at all times.
• Assist with inventory, storage, and transportation of equipment.
• Collaborate with Banquets, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Respond quickly to operational requests and last-minute changes.
• Help foster a collaborative, guest-focused culture aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
