Job summary

HM Alpha Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Lead Banquet Setup / Houseperson at Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa in Tucson, AZ. You will lead banquet setup, coordinate team members, and ensure all spaces remain clean, organized, and professionally prepared for meetings, conferences, weddings, and other events.

You will set up tables, linens, staging, and equipment, respond to guest requests, and work with the Banquet Manager to ensure flawless service and timely event execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospitality, event management, or related training is a plus.
• Experience in banquet operations or hotel events preferred.
• Leadership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate banquet setup and breakdown for events.
• Set tables, chairs, linens, staging, and equipment per event orders.
• Review daily event requirements and ensure rooms are prepared before guest arrival.
• Lead banquet housepersons and setup team during functions.
• Maintain clean, organized banquet spaces and service areas.
• Address setup, cleanliness, or equipment needs during events.
• Move, lift, and arrange tables, chairs, and equipment safely.
• Communicate changes and needs to Banquet Manager or leadership.
• Support servers with room resets, replenishment, and event-related needs.
• Return equipment to storage after events.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and property standards.
