Job summary

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Lead Banquet Setup / Houseperson to oversee banquet setup and breakdown for meetings, conferences, weddings, and other events. You will set up tables, linens, staging, and equipment per event orders, and ensure rooms are prepared prior to guest arrival.

Lead a team of banquet housepersons, maintain clean spaces, address equipment needs, and support servers with room resets and replenishment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in banquet operations, hotel events, catering, hospitality, or a related service environment.
• Experience leading or directing a setup, banquet, or housekeeping team is a plus.
• Experience with meeting, conference, wedding, or special event setups is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate banquet setup and breakdown for meetings, conferences, weddings, meal functions, and other events.
• Set tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, buffet areas, bars, and other event equipment according to event orders and specifications.
• Review daily event requirements and ensure rooms are properly prepared prior to guest arrival.
• Lead and provide direction to banquet housepersons and setup team members during assigned functions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance throughout banquet spaces, pre-function areas, and service areas.
• Monitor event spaces throughout functions and promptly address setup, cleanliness, or equipment needs.
• Assist with moving, lifting, and arranging tables, chairs, equipment, and other banquet supplies safely and efficiently.
• Communicate event changes, special requests, and operational needs to the Banquet Manager or appropriate leadership.
• Support banquet servers and other team members with room resets, replenishment, and other event-related needs.
• Ensure all banquet equipment and supplies are returned to their designated storage areas following events.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and property standards while handling equipment and maintaining event spaces.
• Provide professional and courteous service to guests, clients, and fellow team members.
• Contribute to an efficient, collaborative, and service-focused banquet operation.
• Other duties as assigned.
