Job summary

The Banquets Houseperson at Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa plays a key backstage role in delivering flawless events. You will set up banquet rooms per event orders, keep equipment clean and safe, and return spaces to their original condition after each function.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and team-focused, with the ability to handle fast-paced environments and assist servers and bartenders as needed. A TABC and Food Handler certifications are typically required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in banquet, hospitality, or event setup is preferred.
• Team-oriented attitude and ability to follow direction.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms according to event orders (tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, etc.).
• Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and safely arranged.
• Remove and store items post-event, returning spaces to original condition.
• Adhere to department and hotel policies and procedures.
• Assist with cleaning floors, walls, and surfaces as needed.
• Support servers and bartenders as needed during events.
• Communicate setup needs with Banquet Captain and Event Manager.
• Track and organize banquet supplies and equipment; perform other duties as assigned.
