Job summary

Olympia Hospitality is seeking a Banquet Set-up associate in Winter Park, FL. The role involves safe, efficient banquet setup per client specifications and delivering excellent customer service with a smile.

The position pays $17.00 per hour plus tips/commissions and offers a family-friendly, wellness-focused work environment with health coverage, retirement, PTO, paid holidays, earned wage access, EAP, and travel discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in serving or banquet setup preferred.
• Familiarity with in-house and external A/V equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Know hotel layout and storage areas for the Food & Beverage Department.
• Be familiar with A/V equipment - both in house and outside vendor’s.
• Maintain all banquet rooms and closets to stay organized and clean.
• Read and comprehend BEO information.
• Complete room setup according to BEO and ensure the meeting room is ready for the client at least 1 hour prior to arrival; place door sign and sign off on BEO.
• Breakdown and/or flip banquet room and store equipment after events, resetting for the next day.
• Turn off lights, adjust AC/heat, and lock doors and closets at shift end.
• Inspect banquet room equipment daily and report any issues.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Know hotel layout and storage areas for the Food & Beverage Department
• Be familiar with A/V equipment - both in house and outside vendor’s
• Maintain all banquet rooms and closets to ensure they are organized and clean
• Read and comprehend BEO information
• Complete room set up according to BEO, ensure meeting room is clean, neatly set and ready for client at least 1 hour prior to arrival; place door sign for event and signs off on BEO
• Breakdown and/or “flip” banquet room and store equipment at conclusion of events (clear tables, for specified functions, down to the bare table and reset for following day)
• Turn off all lights, adjust AC, heat, and lock all doors and closets at end of shift
• Inspect banquet room equipment daily, such as lights, tables and chairs and inform department head of broken or missing equipment

Skills Required

• Provide high-level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure.

Experience / Education

• Previous serving and/or experience setting up banquets preferred; familiarity and comfort with operating A/V equipment (both in house and outside vendor equipment is helpful)
