Job summary

The Lodge at Schroon Lake, operated by Olympia Hospitality, is seeking a Banquet Server to join our team in Schroon Lake, NY. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences during events and banquets, including setup, service, and post-event cleanup.

We value a friendly, professional attitude, strong teamwork, and the ability to handle busy service periods with grace. Compensation starts at $16 per hour plus gratuity, with travel discounts as a team perk.

Qualifications

• Serving or setup experience preferred; must be of legal age to serve alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Assist with banquet room and event space setup per event specifications.
• Greet guests and escort to assigned tables; assist with seating.
• Take food and beverage orders and upsell where appropriate.
• Serve food and beverages promptly following service standards.
• Maintain clean, orderly dining areas; clear and reset tables.
• Assist with event breakdown and post-event cleanup.
• Provide courteous, personalized service and address guest concerns.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup of banquet rooms and event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and decorations according to event specifications.
• Ensure that all necessary equipment, utensils, and silverware are clean, polished, and properly arranged, and that audiovisual equipment and lighting are set up and operational.
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their assigned tables, and provide assistance with seating as needed.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, using suggestive selling techniques to promote additional items or upgrades.
• Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately, following established service standards and presentation guidelines.
• Anticipate guests' needs and preferences and provide personalized service and attention to ensure a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, and resolve any issues or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
• Clear tables, remove used dishes and utensils, and replenish supplies as needed throughout the event to ensure a clean and orderly dining environment.
• Assist with event breakdown and cleanup tasks, including removing linens, folding chairs, and dismantling decorations.
• Complete post-event cleaning and sanitation procedures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in banquet areas.

Skills Required

• Provide high-level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure.

Experience / Education

• Serving and or set up experience preferred; must be of legal age in order to serve alcohol, per state law.
