Job summary

Opal Collection in Sarasota, FL is seeking a banquet setup team member to arrange tables, chairs, stages and cover all event setup duties. You will ensure spaces are inviting and ready for guests, adhering to brand standards.

You will work with event staff to set up audio-visuals, linens and centerpieces, perform final cleaning, and assist with breakdowns. A flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to move heavy equipment and furniture.
• Ability to read and follow event instructions and floor plans accurately.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct setup.
• Teamwork and collaboration with staff.
• Willingness to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job description

Greet guests, set up and teardown banquet rooms utilizing chairs, tables and equipment for guest functions. Help maintain an efficient, clean, profitable and professional banquet facility by providing quality service, hospitality and function room standards.

Responsibilities:

• Arrange and arrange tables, chairs, stages, and other furniture
• Set up and place audio-visual equipment, linens, centerpieces, and other supplies
• Perform final cleaning of rooms, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces like windows and walls to ensure the space is ready for guests
• Assist with the breakdown of events, including moving and storing all equipment and furniture in its designated plac.
• Keep banquet areas, public spaces, and storage areas clean and organized
• Work with event staff and servers to ensure the setup is complete and ready for service

Requirements:

• Physical stamina to handle moving heavy equipment and furniture
• Ability to read and follow event instructions and floor plans accurately
• Attention to detail to ensure the event space is set up correctly and meets specifications
• Teamwork skills to collaborate with other staff members
