Job summary

Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is seeking an on-call banquet team member to ensure guests receive outstanding service. The role covers food prep for events, serving with proper china and glassware, and coordinating with servers and housepersons.

Ideal candidates show independence, a friendly demeanor, and a strong command of English. Parking and meals are often provided, and shifts may include evening events.

Qualifications

• Experience in guest-facing roles in hospitality is preferred.
• Strong communication and English speaking skills required.
• Able to work independently and maintain motivation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dressings and cold sauces for events.
• Ensure guest service quality and comfort throughout the event.
• Know menu items, beverages, wines, and specials.
• Serve items with appropriate china, glassware, and garnish.
• Assist servers and set up houseperson areas as needed.
• Follow safe serving regulations when handling alcohol.
• Set tables with linen, silver, and glassware neatly.
• Break down events and clean rooms after functions.
• Comply with health & safety policies and licensing laws.
• Maintain equipment in good condition and report issues.
• Report shortages, damages, or security concerns.
• Handle guest complaints/requests and escalate as required.
• On-call position; at least 2 shifts per month, including one PM event.

We are looking for an ambitious and fun individual to join our hard working banquets team at the Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel. Our goal is to enhance the customer experience by having an enthusiastic staff to ensure event guests are well taken care of!

• Prepare all dressings and cold sauces.
• Ensure quality guest service and comfort at all times by monitoring the area continuously.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, specials, beverages, wines, etc.
• Serve all items utilizing appropriate china, glassware, silverware, garnish, and condiments.
• Assist servers and set up housepersons if needed.
• Maintain safe serve regulations when serving alcoholic beverages
• Assist in setting tables with linen and basic silver and glass maintaining high standard of presentation
• Assist in breaking down events and cleaning rooms after functions
• Comply with health and safety regulation and act in line with company policies and licensing laws
• Maintain equipment in good condition
• Report on any shortages, damages or security issues
• Handle reasonable guests complaints/requests and inform others when required

This is an On Call position, you will be required to work atleast 2 shifts per month. One that includes a PM event.
